NCP Bolton

Two NCP car parks – one in Topp Way Bolton and the other in Deane Road.

How We Helped

Working with the client, architect and builder Robust supplied 50 steel doors for a variety of applications across the two car parks.

We were specifically chosen to work on this because of our ability to meet the different specifications needed in a project of this nature.

In public buildings, such as car parks like these, doors must obviously comply with current legislation but special consideration must also be given to the public who are using them. As a result we were able to design and manufacture a range of doors, including supplying some that were designed to assist visually impaired users (through the use of strong contrasting colours on the leading edge.) A number of doors were fitted with automatic door operators and had magnetic locks to hold them open until required to close during a fire alarm. A number of our doors were also incorporated into the car park’s access control system. The doors were integrated into the fire protection strategy and also offered excellent perimeter security.

The developer on this project was National Car Parks Ltd, the architects were Ingleton LLP and the builder was Mcclaren Construction Ltd.
