Assembly Operative

Main duties and Responsibilities

The role of the assembly operative will achieve results in the following key areas, in conjunction with the other assembly operatives, planners, fabrication, powder and stores teams, in order to fulfil the overall job purpose.  This is not an exhaustive list.

  • To assemble doors of varying sizes with various hardware to be attached
  • To use hand and air tools to assemble products
  • To meet daily production targets
  • To achieve required quality standards
  • To follow health and safety processes and procedures
  • To resolve assembly issues efficiently
  • To liaise with Supervisors
  • To follow manual handling procedures when lifting and carrying doors
  • Ensure Health & Safety procedures are adhered to, that a safety-first culture is embedded and respected
  • Ensure Quality procedures are adhered to, that continuous improvement and a right first time better every time mentality is encouraged

This role may involve the requirement for a reasonable amount of overtime

Person Specification

Knowledge & Experience

Essential:

Experience within a manufacturing assembly environment

Experience in working to set operative procedures and quality standards

Skills

Essential:

  • Competent use of hand and air tools (grinder, drill, screwdriver, tape measure)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically MS Excel)
  • High attention to detail
  • High level of accuracy
  • Good hand-eye coordination

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Maths and English
