Research and Development Engineer
Base: Robust UK, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent ST3
Salary: Up To £35,000 a year, depending on experience

Robust UK are the leading supplier of steel door solutions, offering a wide range of products in both the Industrial and Commercial sectors.
Robust UK are now looking for a R&D Design Engineer to join their expanding Research and Development department to help further improve the products that they produce.
Job Purpose:
To be involved in new and existing product development. Researching, creating, and developing products relating to the steel door industry. To focus on continuous improvement and maintain high quality standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The role of Research and Development Engineer will achieve results in the following key areas, in conjunction with the Sales and Production departments, to fulfil the overall job purpose. This is not an exhaustive list.
- Perform and oversee fire, security & performance testing on products ensuring they meet relevant standards for the industry.
- New and existing product development.
- Production engineering to improve factory efficiencies.
- Maintain high quality standards.
- Accurately create 3D models and draw designs using Solidworks.
- Monitor and assist with building sample doors for testing.
- Support business with technical queries – Sales, customers, production, drawing office
- Engage with other areas of the business (Sales, Production) to ensure key targets are met.
Knowledge, Experience and Personal Attributes:
- Previous work in a manufacturing environment.
- Product Design using sheet metal or other CNC production methods.
- Full understanding of Solidworks.
- Understanding of Microsoft Office.
- Previous experience in leading projects.
- Previous experience with Research and Development and testing advantageous.
- Takes ownership of projects and is self-motivated.
- Has a positive attitude towards continuous learning.
