Stoke-on-Trent’s Robust UK is one of the latest companies to renew their membership with Secured by Design (SBD), the national police crime prevention initiative.

Robust UK are leading the industry with their custom-made steel door solutions, offering a wide range of products to suit both the Industrial and Commercial sectors. Robust doors are ideally used for projects within the Transport, Education, Health, Housing and Utilities markets; whether it’s for a new build or a refurbishment project. The company’s range includes doors for use throughout a building, from entrances to exits, from basements to roof plant-rooms.

The ‘Robust’ nature of the company’s products comes from their history as Scandinavian manufacturers of steel hinged doors. The harsh environments of Sweden required security, function and peace of mind – all of which Robust deliver on a daily basis. Now part of the Novoferm Group Robust are also able to extend their product range to include doors from the broader range of group companies.

Since moving into a new factory in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent in 2015, Robust UK have been able to manufacture their whole product range on site. This has enabled them to add to their portfolio of Secured by Design approved doors, recently certifying their GLAS-DOR and TUFF-VENT products to PAS 24:2016 certification.

Robust UK were one of the exhibitors at Secured by Design’s National Training Event for earlier in the year, where nearly 200 Police Designing Out Crime Officers heard the Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick speak about the role that private industry play in supporting the police with crime prevention and praising them for assisting the police with security-related products which deter and prevent crime.
