Transport Infrastructure
From airports and railway stations to bus depots and ferry terminals, transport infrastructure demands door solutions that can handle intensive use, strict safety standards, and the movement of thousands of people every day. Robust UK provides doors that combine strength and durability with fire safety, accessibility, and modern design — ensuring facilities remain safe, efficient, and welcoming.

We’ve Got it Covered.
Our doors are widely used in:
- Train and underground stations
- Airports and ferry terminals
- Bus depots and coach stations
- Service yards and maintenance depots
- Control rooms and ticket offices

Passenger Areas
In passenger-facing spaces, doors must contribute to a safe, calm, and welcoming environment while standing up to constant use.
GLAS-DOR provides transparency and light, with fire resistance up to 90 minutes (EI90), helping to keep concourses open and inviting without compromising safety. Acoustic-rated versions (up to 45dB) help reduce noise from platforms or service equipment, creating calmer waiting areas.
OUTA-DOR THERM keeps draughts out of terminal entrances, achieving U-values as low as 1.3W/(m²K) to support comfort and reduce energy costs.
Security & Restricted Access
Transport hubs include sensitive areas where strict security is essential — from staff entrances to control rooms.
SECUR-DOR 2.1 (PAS 24 certified and Secured by Design accredited) is suitable for staff entrances, ticket offices, and back-of-house zones, whilst TUFF-DOR (certified to LPS 1175 up to SR4), provides protection for high-security areas such as control rooms, signalling centres, and airside access points.
All Robust doors are manufactured to order, so can be prepared for integration with electronic access control for smooth management of staff-only areas across large transport sites.

Fire & Smoke Safety
In stations, airports, and tunnels, fire safety is paramount, with strict regulation governing design.
INNA-DOR and OUTA-DOR are ideal, as both offer fire resistance up to 4 hours, supporting compliance with Building Regulations (Approved Document B) and guidance for fire safety in the design and management of buildings, which is widely applied in transport hubs.
GLAS-DOR and INNA-DOR smoke-rated doorsets (tested to BS EN1634-3) help to contain smoke and prevent it spreading along corridors and underground tunnels.
Service & Plant Areas
Transport infrastructure relies on plant, ventilation, and back-of-house services that must remain secure but accessible.
VENT-DOR and TUFF-VENT provide robust fully louvred solutions for boiler rooms, plant rooms, and air handling units, with TUFF-VENT providing enhanced security against intruders or tampering thanks to its PAS 24 certification and Secured by Design approval.
A number of our products boast impressive acoustic performance, for example OUTA-DOR can achieve up to 36dB acoustic reduction – preventing disruption from noisy equipment such as ventilation fans or generators.
Regardless of the chosen door type and performance characteristics, our durable finishes withstand high humidity and tough cleaning regimes in transport depots and tunnels.

Accessibility & Passenger Flow
Transport hubs must be inclusive and easy to navigate for all users. Robust UK doors support compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and inclusive design standards, including Network Rail’s accessibility requirements and best practice for airports.
6mm thresholds facilitate smooth movement of wheelchairs and luggage through doorways – and in some instances no threshold is required at all – whilst contrasting PPC colour finishes aid visually impaired passengers and support wayfinding.
Durability & Finishes
Transport facilities face constant use, weather exposure, and sometimes vandalism. Robust UK doors are built to withstand these conditions while still offering design flexibility.
A number of our doors are manufactured from Magnelis® steel construction for long-lasting durability, and as such are backed by and unrivalled anti-corrosion warranty of up to 10 years.
We have a choice of over 50 standard colours for a powder coated finish, but can supply doorsets in any BS or RAL colour specified for truly bespoke options to match branding requirements. In addition, timber-effect finishes are available for experience-based areas such as customer lounges and premium passenger areas.
