Robust UK has announced the appointment of Rob Mottram as its new Head of Product and Compliance, reinforcing the company’s commitment to innovation, certification and long-term growth.
Rob returns to Robust UK with more than a decade of industry experience, including his recent role as Technical Manager for the ARRONE range at HOPPE (UK). During his time there, he developed extensive expertise in door hardware, testing and certification processes – key areas underpinning product performance and regulatory compliance.
His appointment also marks a return to familiar ground. Rob previously held several roles within Robust UK, including Design Engineer, Production Supervisor and Research and Development Manager. This combination of external insight and internal knowledge positions him strongly to lead the company’s next phase of product development.

In his new role, Rob will lead both the Research and Development and Drawing teams, playing a central role in advancing product innovation, ensuring compliance and supporting the ongoing evolution of Robust UK’s portfolio.

Rob brings a strong set of professional credentials to the position. He is a qualified Certificated Standards & Regulations Advisor (CertSRA) and holds Guild of Architectural Ironmongers (GAI) Diplomas in Door Systems (RegDS) and Access Control (RegAC). He is also an active member of the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers Education Committee, where he contributes to training development, delivers educational sessions and supports examination processes.
Further strengthening his expertise, Rob is currently completing a Diploma in Principles of Firestopping, deepening his knowledge of the critical role doors play in passive fire protection.
