Robust UK has launched ACTIV-DOR – an innovative new fire exit door specifically designed for use in sports halls, gymnasiums, leisure centres, and multi-purpose recreational spaces.
Developed to meet the demands of modern sports environments, ACTIV-DOR moves away from traditional emergency exit designs featuring box panels and resting ledges. Instead, it incorporates a full-length rebound panel with a chamfered finish, creating a sleek, contemporary appearance while enhancing durability and safety.
A key objective during development was achieving a completely flush finish across the entire doorset. This not only ensures compliance with Sport England guidance for doors to sit level with the internal wall surface, but also provides architects and contractors with a modern alternative to conventional sports hall fire exits.
The innovative design features a 130mm-thick door leaf that sits flush within both the frame and surrounding wall construction. Integrated flush pull handles are positioned level with the door face, eliminating protruding hardware and creating a seamless appearance. This helps reduce the risk of injury during play, minimises impact damage and supports easier cleaning and maintenance.
Available in both single and double-door configurations, ACTIV-DOR can also be specified with side and over panels to accommodate larger openings. An integrated panic touch bar, fully compliant with BS EN 1125, ensures safe, simple operation and rapid egress in emergency situations.
Manufactured in the UK from heavy-duty Magnelis® steel, ACTIV-DOR delivers exceptional strength, corrosion resistance and impact protection. Its robust construction is designed to withstand the demands of busy sports and leisure facilities, providing long-term performance and resistance to wear, damage and vandalism.
